The Gruesome Twosome and Another Kina Hora

If you remember back to my last post, I told you about Ethan climbing out of his crib and that we were going to have to put the toddler rail on quickly so we were going to place it on expedited special order. Well, we did do that and expected the toddler rail in on Monday morning.

Today, we went out for lunch and then Marc came home with the kiddos to put them down for a nap while I went to Barnes and Nobles with Justin. When J and I came home we heard Katie talking away in their room. I asked Marc if she had just gotten up or had she never gone to sleep at all? He thought that she had still not gone to sleep and this was about one half hour after she was put down. Marc and I could hear her talking over the monitor and then we started to hear Ethan join in but it was all pretty calm. We were watching a youtube video that I had saved to show him and as we were watching it we were talking about the fact that Ethan had not tried to climb out again since the last episode and that maybe we could get a couple of more months of sleeping in the crib. You see, Ethan is a daredevil now that he has gotten stronger and the two of them together, unsupervised, usually leads to trouble so we are not looking forward to hitting this milestone. Well, back to the video....we were just about to finish it when we hear a scream and cry over the monitor. We go running in to find Ethan in a heap on the floor crying, Katie in Ethan's crib and diapers everywhere (clean ones and dirty ones!!!)

It seems that Ethan climbed out and then he and Katie stealthily wreaked havoc on the room by going through the closets. They pulled out all of the diapers and pull ups out of their packs and then went into the diaper pail and pulled out the dirty ones as well before Katie climbed into Ethan's crib. Then he tried to climb back in but did not quite make it and he fell back to the ground. This was of course the version I got from Miss Starr so it may be a bit sketchy. Of course as Ethan fell back to the ground he did a great job of bruising and scraping his face :(

There were lots of tears while I tried to apply ice to his face as Katie looked on quietly. I told them both how upset and disappointed I was (she understands and he does not or at least we think he does not ). Marc had to take the crib front rail off and put the mattress on the floor for the weekend until we can get the rail on Monday.

Right now all I can say is.....I would just really like a dull moment!!

Poor baby :(

After the co-conspirators executed their plan and then never napped they ended up falling asleep in their chairs while watching Elmo

Poor you! You definitely need a dull moment. I'm still not quite sure how you manage with the Dynamic Duo. What's your secret!?

Poor Ethan. His boo boo face is so sweet. Somehow I have a feeling that this is not the end of "The Adventures of the Dynamic Duo."

So Sorry to hear about Ethan's face. I expect that you will get a dull momement in about 15 or 20 years. Something to look forward to.
My favorite time of day is when they nap at the same time.

I laughed out loud at the "I wish for a dull moment" then I got to the picture of the 2 of them and it looks like they just came in from a "all nighter" but I guess at their age is called a "no napper".
Keep smiling:)

Do you ever watch Jon and Kate plus 8 on TLC. I think it the FUNNEST show on TV.
