I am here to tell you that no news is not good news!

I wish that I could shout to the world that we have a daughter but instead I need to let you know that we are still in the dark. The only thing that has been revealed to us is that this is a courier error as it was mishandled somewhere along the way but we do not know yet what steps will be taken.

On another note; I have to let you know that what we have found through this debacle for lack of a better word is that we are blessed with wonderful friends from around this country. Some of people that we have met and some that we know through my blogging or online support groups. I have received so many phone calls, e-mails and loving gestures that have come from far and wide. We truly are blessed beyond belief and know that ultimately our blessings will bring Katie Starr home to us. As one example of a loving gesture please check this link out:

www.chasinglittlekacey.blogspot.com. Julie, who is a friend and fellow blogger has written her latest passage today 2/28/06 about our situation. What she has written will show her dedication as a friend and fellow adoptive mother to be as well as her friendship towards Marc and I. Thank you Julie from the bottom of my heart and thank you to all of you whom we call family and friends who bolster us in your love and support during the good times as well as the bad times. We love you all.

Where is our baby?

This has been a day unlike any other in my life. Marc and I prepared with such anticipation today. We taped a message to Katie. Marc brought me a dozen roses. We stocked the house with goodies as family and friends were stopping by and then we find out that the referral is lost with 64 others in our group of 90. There is no record of it in the DHL system. Evidently, CHI and Harrah's (Two other adoption agencies) have had some of theirs lost today too. I would have to say that either they are in some warehouse in Beijing or on someone's desk at the CCAA. Our agency is going to make contact tonight but who knows!?!

I could not post earlier because quite honestly I could not see to type through the tears but now the tears have passed and I know that good things come to those who wait and wait and wait...LOL

I will post again when I am updated.

STORK ALERT!!!!!!!!!

We are in a fog....yesterday we were issued a stork alert by our agency. A stork alert means that the CCAA in Beijing has sent the referral of our baby and the babies of 89 other families from our agency as well as the hundreds of other babies to other waiting families as well. Our information should arrive at our agency either on Monday or Tuesday and as soon as it does our agency will call us with some pertinent info and an e-mailed picture of our Katie Starr.

We received our stork alert while in Las Vegas. We took the red eye home and as I said earlier; we are totally in a fog. The excitement is almost unbearable. All of our family and closest friends are waiting to catch a glimpse of this dream that we have held for so long. We are going to be parents again very soon to our second child and feel so fortunate to be given the privilege to parent two children. WOW...what a life....stay tuned!!!!

On Pins and Needles

That is the phrase that I keep using to describe how we feel right now. Our agency feels that referrals should be sent out by the end of the month and they usually take three days to get here. To know that we are getting so close to finally seeing our Katie Starr sends the butterflies a fluttering. It is hard to sleep; I keep having all kinds of baby dreams. I have baby on the brain! Our life is about to change and I say BRING IT ON!! I will keep you posted as we know more in the coming week.

The Baby Shower

Yesterday my mother and my best friend Kira threw us a wonderful baby shower. The turnout was overwhelming and the generosity of friends and family was very moving for Marc and I. We had some very special people come into town for the shower. Among them was my sister Jane, Marc's Aunt Shirley, my longtime friend Cathy and my wonderful son, Justin with his girlfriend Judy.

We ate, socialized, played games and overall had a blast. There was a mountain of gifts there so Marc had to make an executive decision and told the group that we were not going to be able to open the gifts there. Everyone must have been happy about that because a round of applause soon followed that statement. It took a Hummer and an SUV to bring the gifts home. Once we got home it took about three hours to open them all. There had even been several gifts sent to the house before the shower thank goodness. I cannot tell how blessed we feel to have such wonderful people in our lives who love us as we love them.

Here are a few pictures. I did not take that many because I was so excited! If any of you have some from our shower please fork them over :)
