Ignorance is Bliss

Today we hooked up our new Nin*tendo W*ii and excitedly started with the bowling game. We were having fun with it and the DD were happy to watch and cheer for us for all of 2 minutes before they both wanted to play. I put the controller into Katie's hand first and tried to show her what to do but at this age there is no way that they can handle it. They were both so upset that they could not play and then Marc came up with the following ingenious idea...

Yes, we gave them the cordless phone and remote control and told them that they could play the game with them!! They were waving those items around like they were really controlling the game while Marc was controlling it from behind. They were cheering for themselves and totally happy! Hey, whatever works...right?

To funny!!!! Ogre will give Moose or Goose the second controller to his game- and they will lay up on the bed with him and "play" video games with him.
They look happy with their new game!

Marc always comes up with great solutions! Of course, in a very short while, the DD will figure out how to do the basics with the remote control so you guys may be in trouble! Erin figured out how to change the channel. She'd tell us she didn't like what was on the tv.

Besides, if they're playing along with you guys, then they're getting some good exercise either way.

The little guys are adorable! My husband however...the first time he played (bowling and tennis) threw his back out and ended up in bed for a couple of days! He swears it wasn't the Wii (he said it was yard work...yea right) but lets just say....wives know all:) Be careful!!:)

That is hilarious! You know, they will figure it out sooner or later, and then what are you going to tell them?
LOL!

Looks like necessity was the FATHER of invention this time around!

Very clever!

I knew Marc was smart! We do the same with a remote that we took the battery out so Rachel thinks she's changing the t.v. channels. She knows not to touch the other ones. I guess it will work until they figure it all out and that probably won't be before too long.

That man is a GENIOUS!!! Maybe he can try out for "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader"?!?! Way to go, Marc! Hey, when the kids can't get the whole hoola-hoop thing down on the Wii, Marc can do the same thing...just make sure you post the photos! LOL
