I guess I will be the disagreer here..I like her. I think she should have answered that everyone is making a big deal out of McCains age and she wanted to point out he was old also. Age is not a issue for me in the election it is who I think will be the better president. One I like, One I do not like at ALL.
Diana: I definitely do not think that everyone will agree with me but since this is my forum, I must speak my mind.
I have to point out though that when she made that 2nd grade comment in her speech she was basically saying that he was old, tired-been there and done that. How can she then say it is not the same for John McCain? Even if you like Senator McCain; can you honestly say that she is ready to be in his place in case anything happens to him. She is in way over her head.
I respectfully disagree about your choice of candidates but hey, that is the thing that sets us apart as Americans, we can disagree on politics and it is all good. In fact, it is the American way! :)
Lori I could not agree more on being the American way..I almost did not post my above comment but thought since you posted it I would respond. We lived in Phoenix and we always liked McCain and what he stood for. I usually do not talk about politics as I do think it is a personal thing and so many feel it is there way or no way...this is why we are so lucky..we have choice:) Have a great week with your DD!!
We are Lori and Marc; Two 50 something parents of Justin (28) an attorney married to Judy a teacher, Katie Starr (7) and Ethan (7), our virtual twins adopted from the Peoples Republic of China. Having virtual twins is very interesting to put it mildly. Yeah, we are a little stressed out but we do have loads of fun as well. Come and visit us from time to time to get a taste of the madness.
8/24/09 I asked Katie is she wanted a piece of strawberry shortcake and she responded by telling me..."I only want the fruit..please don't give me the cake!"

Gee. I'm thinking that she's a moron. Sorry if that's offensive but I really believe she left her functioning brain cells back in Alaska.
ROTFL.... Stick foot in mouth. That was priceless. Palin in Alaska? I don't mind. Palin in office? Petrifying!

You have a great week too Diana :)
All I can say is I am looking forward to the debate on Thursday, and the Tina Fey (Saturday Night Life) satire that will surely follow!
As my dh says about the possiblity of her getting elected..."frightening, just frightening." I couldn't agree more.
I don't even know what to think anymore. She is definitely giving SNL great material.
