FCC- South Florida National Adoption Month Picnic

Today is National Adoption Day. Our FCC chapter, of which I am President, hosted it's third annual adoption month picnic. It was awesome!! We had warm, sunny weather, good food, entertainment for the kids and the adults and camaraderie with the most supportive FCC Chapter in the world, as far as I am concerned.

When you are amongst friends who have also adopted, it is like coming home. There are no questions, no weird looks and no explaining about the way that you have chosen to form your family. I love all of my friends but it sure is wonderful to be around my dear adoption friends.

I have a kadjillion pics to go through but here are a few of my kiddos and hubby in the meantime. Some were taken by me and some by my dear friends.

There are those in this world who share the same journey to create a family. And you're right, we don't have to explain anything and we can be there to support through the unique challenges that comes with parenting through adoption.

I love the picture of E-man climbing on Marc and daddy's complete ability to roll with it. Good daddy.

I wish I could have been there. It looks like fun was had by all! Love the pics. Hugs from the wine country. ;-)

Great shots, Lori! I agree, love the one of Marc and the kids, too cute. It's wonderful to see what a special group you have and I admire that unique bond that you all share through adoption. As a friend looking in from the outside, I respect the challenges that you all face. Parenting alone is hard enough, but you all have chosen to take it a few steps further, and some folks 'out here' just don't get that and make it even more difficult on you. I think that is sad, and know that you all are such wonderful people with beautiful children! I'm honored to be a friend. :-)

It was a wonderful day Lori! I have been told by other friends in the adoption community that our FCC chapter appears to be a very close knit one. They don't always feel the kinship that our group seems to have. Personally, I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I absolutely love all the pics I've seen from today. The one of the Ethan climbing on Marc while Katie Starr sits close by is a favorite. It's such a personal peek into who they all are.
