More Potty Talk

Just a quick update on Katie and potty training. We had a break through today :) When last we discussed this sensitive subject ;-0 Katie was having great success with peeing on the potty and staying dry most of the time at night. She was holding back on # 2 though and we had four days at a time with no action on that front. She was really holding back and trying hard to control it. She has been having bad tummy aches and I have been imploring her to use the potty and sitting with her each day and reading to her while she is on the potty so that she will relax and go. The first two times she ended up going in her panties but today we had success! The funny thing was that it was in a public restroom at Ethan's speech therapist's office. Marc saw her tense up and asked her if she had to go. We were again on day four in our quest for poop. She told him no and protested when he decided to take her. This time when he put her on the potty she finally gave in and went and boy was she excited. She had him call me and tell me that she had made a "big fat poop"! Her words not mine..ROFL. I was so excited that you would think I had won the lotto. Man oh man, I need to get a life...

Maybe we have turned the corner...fingers and toes crossed!

Congratulations Katie on your "big fat poop". I totally understand the excitement. I called David on his cell phone when Rachel finally went after two days. I'm also hoping that you have turned the corner. Keep us updated. I'm clapping and jumping up and down for you Katie!

We are so thrilled for Katie and you too! With Kerri, I feel like we are trying to break in a wild stallion, sheesh.
So this is what motherhood is all about, getting excited about a big fat poop!

we were reminicsing about this stage in Sam's life last night (he was a control freak too)...Steve would find him behind the couch pushing one out so no one would see him....Poop is funny

You did win the lottery! After all, you have Katie Starr & her amazing brothers! As for the "big, fat poop" I offer my congratulations to you. And kudos to Marc for outsmarting her!

We totally should have asked Veronica for more of that "baby tea" in China! I don't know why they insist on holding it so long, it just creates more problems and a bigger "stink" in the end! Yay for Miss Katie (and for you too!).

Don't you love it when they announce their accomplishments to the masses? Libby gets really crabby and starts acting silly when she has to go but she won't go unless she wants to. I'm not past bribing her though or singing and dancing in the bathroom stall as it seems to help! :) I usually prefer only to sing and dance if there aren't any other people in the restrooms though as "The Poopy" Song and Dance is a little embarassing for me! Then I tell her to go tell Daddy what a good job she did (hee hee) and she runs screaming out of the bathroom to find him and exclaim she made BIIIGG POOPIES at the top of her lungs! I thought he might die right then and there last week in front of a bunch of his co-workers! The things we do for these sweethearts!
