The Wheels on the bus go round and round......***Updated pic at the bottom***

....and they rolled right up to our house this morning, about 25 minutes late but we seem to be making progress :) The sub bus driver was still filling in for the regular driver but the aide was the permanent one.

Mr. E woke up full of anticipation of the big event again and waited somewhat patiently for his big yellow ride to come. Katie was a little tired this morning and was not "playing well with others" (smirk) Oh, and try to get past the somber look on Ethan's face in the first picture. He had asked me for something that I told him "no" to and that is the standard Ethan look when he is disgruntled for the moment. I wish I could catch him with a smile on his face but he does not cooperate when the camera comes out.

When the bus finally came, he walked up to it with no hesitation. Once he had to start up the stairs though, he called out for his main man (Daddy) to help him up and not only Ethan and Daddy but Mommy and Katie came on to the bus as well.

I spoke to the driver and asked her a couple of questions while Daddy assisted the aide in strapping him in. This was all while Katie told the driver our whole life story (all about Justin, Judy, Ethan and how they were all related to her ;) The driver was hysterical from the whole scene. At this point, it was time to go and our little guy (who has an amazingly adventurous spirit) sat stoically as we said our goodbyes. He did not look entirely thrilled but all was OK. We exited the bus and waved to Ethan as they left. He is such a peanut that I could barely see the top of his head but all of the other 3 and 4 year olds waved to us and just like that, they were off to school. It left me with a lump in my throat but at the same time, a very happy feeling inside for my baby, who is the strongest and feistiest soul of the five of us.

Update:

The bus pulled up and we could see Ethan waving from the front seat. He came off looking like this.

We asked him if he liked the bus. We got a exuberant YES!! Then the next question was his standard one...Where's Katie?? He loves his sis :)

That's my boy!

He looks thrilled to be home and back with Daddy. Ethan looks so grown up already, I am sure it was a bittersweet day for you.
I am so proud of both of you. That boy will go far. And the no! face so reminds me of another little boy I know and love.

I am so relieved that it came today! I swear to you that my first thought this morning when I opened my eyes was: I hope Fishmans bus picks him up today!

I'm crying. Yea. Yea. I know. No surprise. I've been so nervous since we spoke & you told me about Ethan wanting to go on the bus.

I am so proud of that sweet boy. He may have a solemn look on his face, but on the inside, he has the spirit of a free bird. May he soar forever & always.

Erin was like "WHOA!! Ethan rides the bus!? Where does he go to school?" And then she reminded me that he's hers. Apparently, Ethan can't even peek at another girl. She's miffed at the thought that he may stray.

Gotta love her dedication. Of course she also reminds me that she loves her Katie Starr too!
